I just got an email from your sales team encouraging me to provide suggestions..
Here is mine, which i would really like to see, because i really rely upon it..
I very much like the syntax coloring that results from hitting the 'View the last 50 log entries' button; my only suggestion is this:
make it a 2-part button:
- a field with a number, if you insist on the number 50, make it a default, but allow any number as the number of log entries to see..
- a button that says 'View' (or something)
The reason i am suggesting this is that MagicSpam marks between 1000 and 4000 messages per day as spam. i have to say that i believe the accuracy to be 99.999999%; but when a client says 'i need you to really examine the logs to see if *any* real email was lost, well, it is so much more comfortable to use the colored syntax, rather than looking at thousands of lines that all look the same...
i use BBEdit regularly, and i tried to re-create the syntax-coloring scheme you have for those 'last 50', but i do not know BBEdit quite as well as i would like to...
To me, this would be just as useful a modification as the 'log search' feature you just recently introduced...
In any case, your product is great! This is no criticism; it's just a suggestion for adding even more greatness!
Thank you,
Be Well,
Peter
http Syntax Coloring is great; but why only 50?
Re: http Syntax Coloring is great; but why only 50?
Thank you for your input! I think that's a great idea and I would be happy to pass it along to the developers as a feature request.

Re: http Syntax Coloring is great; but why only 50?
One last post, then i promise i'll leave you be...
i'm a *very* old Mac user, and for the longest time, Apple used to regularly release 'Made With a Mac' logos that you could add to your website.
i'm far from being an expert on the matter, but, to me, your logo looks pretty darn cool.
So why not encourage your clients to add a small 'Protected by MagicSpam' logo to their site somewhere, and that would lead to your site..
This product is not intended for mass-consumption; only sys-admins or web-obsessed individuals are your clients. Grass roots and word-of-mouth works best with our kind, i think...
Right now, my website is closed down for personal reasons, but i know some of my clients are very satisfied with this products, and i don't think they would object to a small logo of yours on their 'About Us' page or something. And i guarantee you that as soon as my site is open again, i would clearly display that devil in an envelope of yours (i should have said Cerberus instead of devil).
Just an idea, and, i promise, the last one with which i'll bother you
Be Well,
Peter

Your suggestions are not a bother at all. In fact, we welcome them!
I'll be happy to pass that idea along to the higher-ups here for discussion. Thank you for your suggestions!

Would you be at all interested in signing up to be a reseller? That will give you something akin to a "Protected by MagicSpam" badge, as well as allow you to earn some extra revenue. If you're interested, there is a Resellers link on the MagicSpam site.

Re: http Syntax Coloring is great; but why only 50?
i greatly appreciate the offer, but, right now, i am not taking new clients for personal reasons.
i'm afraid that, as a reseller, i would not generate any income for those very same personal reasons.
i was really just suggesting you folks make a logo or two available to regular clients; each should be available in different sizes, from tiny (ie: 32x16), to medium, to large (ie: 128x64).
My clients and i find your product to be excellent! We look forward to relying on it for some time to come.
Thank you again!
Be Well,
Peter
PS: Seriously though; i would really urge you all to allow us to view more than 50 last messages... the ideal would be to enter any number, but if there has to be a limit, make it 2000... That Syntax coloring really, really helps!
