MagicSpam not blocking forwarded emails in plesk
MagicSpam not blocking forwarded emails in plesk
Hi,
We have Plesk Onyx with MagicSpam Pro installed, works great, but, we have an issue, if we have an email address that is forwarder (using the Plesk function) the main email it's blocked, but the email is still forwarded to the other emails, so, the "main" email doesn't get the email, but the others in forward function, get the spam email.
Any idea, solution?
Thanks in advance

Hello chcxab,
Thank you for contacting us.
Based on our understanding, inbound emails sent to email accounts with email forwarding that have been rejected (SPAM) by MagicSpam are still delivered to the forward accounts. Did we understand you correctly?
We were not able to replicate the reported issue on our Plesk Onyx installation. Would you be able to provide us with more detail on exactly how you set up the forwarding. Also, provide us with the following information.

Hello chcxab,
Thank you for the additional information.
However, we still need more information on how these email forwards were set up, so that we can set up our test environments to match your system as closely as possible and attempt to replicate the issue.
Did you use the typical Plesk methodology for setting up email forwards?

Hello, we have the same problem.
In the logs the email was QUARANTINE[check_reverse_dns_list], but we still receive the mail as it's a catch all also in some forwarded emails this happen, no matter that Magic Spam "block" it, we still receive the email.
Plesk Obsidian Version 18.0.60 Update #1
Magic Spam Beta 2.2.1-1

Re: MagicSpam not blocking forwarded emails in plesk
When it comes to 'forwarding' email, this becomes a lot trickier for MagicSpam - and any anti spam system - to deal with - forwarding mechanisms will often bypass any sort of delivery rules that any integration can affect unfortunately.
Just out of curiosity though, when the message was forwarded, did the final delivered message still have X-MagicSpam-Spam and/or X-Spam headers in it? Could those headers be used to create a separate delivery filter for the target forwarded to mailbox?

Re: MagicSpam not blocking forwarded emails in plesk
Thanks, they have the X-MagicSpam-TUUID on the message, I mean the one delivered message.
The forwarding it's:
> Original recipient is a from a domain alias, all redirected to X domain
> Then X domain has a catchall setting for entire domain
Or is the same with any Catchall domain, we still get the "blocked" mails.
Thanks

Can you help me?... post haven't been approved yet.
What I found additional is this happen when the email is QUARANTINE[check_reverse_dns_list], blocked by blocked list, doesn't happen.

Re: MagicSpam not blocking forwarded emails in plesk
Hello Chcxab,
Thank you for your post.
To better assist you with your inquiry, could you please let us know if the aforementioned block list is fully enabled or enabled with the "FLAG" option? If the policy/block list is enabled fully (ON), messages will be rejected. With the "FLAG" option, the message will be marked for quarantine.
In order for quarantined messages to be delivered to the Spam folder (instead to the Inbox with added ******SPAM***** prefix, you might need to enable the "Deliver to Spam folder" option from the Quarantine Setting section.
Could you please confirm that the "Deliver to Spam folder" option is enabled in the "Anti-Spam (Settings) / System / 'Options' / “Advanced Options”" section in your MagicSpam admin-interface panel?
Thank you Chcxab,
