libssl.so.6

Post by twip » Wed Jul 22, 2009 5:36 pm

Was able to install product with no problem, but when enabled all incoming email stops due to the following error:

/var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Once MagicSpam is disabled all works again.

I am Running PLESK 8.6 on Fedora Core 6 with MagicSpam version 1.0.4-4-fc6-86.i386

Thank you in advance for any help.

I see that you seem to have downloaded the correct RPM package. We will have to test again tomorrow, however this package should work. It could be that you have something different about your specific system. We will post further after confirming the test environments work.

Could you please post the output of the command:

uname -a

One of 3 things is happening based on what we are seeing.

* openssl package is not installed
* an alternate / manual installation of openssl is installed
* you are running a 64 bit operating system which is not compatible with the package you have.

Thanks.

This is a 64 bit system.

The output is a follows:

Linux host_name 2.6.25.9-20080625a #1 SMP Wed Jun 25 10:38:19 CEST 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

If you could please send a request to support@magicspam.com with your operating system (please specify 64 bit), license key, and the plesk version you are running, then the request will be forwarded to the development team and a proper package can be put together for you.

Once the package is compiled and released, we will of course reset the expiry date for you accordingly.

Thank you!

As discussed via email, we have now posted the packages for Fedora Core 6 64 bit. If anyone else out there needs a 64 bit version that is not already supplied, please let us know and we will try our best to accomodate.

I have installed the 64bit rpm and it is working now.

Thank you for the best support I have ever received from any company.
