Translating blocking messages.

Post by odirlon » Fri Aug 27, 2021 11:54 am

Hi guys, how are you?

Is it possible to translate bounce messages when an email is blocked? Everything is in English, and for my clients it would be important to go in pt-br.

Hello Odirlon,

Thank you for contacting us.

The ability to translate bounce messages when an email is blocked into Portuguese (pt-br) is not currently available in MagicSpam. We have opened a development ticket and brought it to the attention of our product team for further consideration.

In the meantime as a workaround, you can use the custom rejection messages system to translate the bounce messages. Since you don't have access to the full list of bounce messages, we have taken the time to translate them into Portuguese for your convenience.

Please follow these instructions to install these rejection messages onto your system.

1. Download the attached rejection messages tarball
2. Transfer the rejection messages tarball to the server with MagicSpam

3. Run the following commands as root to install the rejection messages tarball

Code: Select all

tar -xzvf /path/to/ms-rejections-pt-br.tgz -C /etc/magicspam/rejections
chown magicspam:magicspam /etc/magicspam/rejections/*
chmod 0644 /etc/magicspam/rejections/*
4. Check the translated rejection messages via the MagicSpam interface

Code: Select all

MagicSpam Admin Interface >> Anti-Spam >> Spam Policies
Show advanced rejection message controls >> Edit
At this point, the bounce messages returned to the sender when as email is blocked should be the same as the rejection messages from the MagicSpam interface. Note that the translations may not be 100% accurate, so you should review and edit them as necessary.

Otherwise, please let us know whether you have any issues with workaround or if you have any other questions.
