We installed MagicScan. When testing a filter on the mail server, all mail goes through. Server, you do not filter! Also in the message header does not seem to go through mail filter.
What's the problem?
no working filter
Re: no working filter
Welcome to the forums Pajeknet!
We assume you meant to say 'MagicSpam' - not MagicScan (which is apparently a brand of bar code scanner...)
We need to start by pointing out that MagicSpam is *not* a filter. Based on what you have written for expectations it sounds like you were expecting MagicSpam to behave like Cloudmark or even SpamAssassin. That is *NOT* what the product is. MagicSpam is a SMTP level system that operates based on the characteristics of the sending server that determine if said server is displaying signs of non compliance or other behavior that would indicate a spam source. IF a sender is identified as a spam source - the message is then blocked immediately with a detailed rejection message as to why.
Now.. you are saying that it allowed all mail through when you were testing... Can you please confirm if this was just during your testing or if you are seeing '0' in the actual statistics of MagicSpam for processed messages?
Please let us know, thanks!
