Hello,
I am considering MagicSpam for our cPanel servers. I'd like to know if it's likely to stop most virus attachment emails, like the EMOTET passworded zips.
Thanks!
Will MagicSpam stop EMOTET spams?
Re: Will MagicSpam stop EMOTET spams?
Hello AndyB78,
Thank you for your post.
Please note that MagicSpam provides anti-spam protection through Best Practices rules and IP reputation on SMTP and Pre-SMTP levels, and it is protecting your system before spam messages even get to your system. As such, MagicSpam does not have anti-virus capabilities just yet; however, MagicSpam PRO version has the capability of dealing with Emotet spam via alternative means.
First of all, MagicSpam works well with most of third party anti-virus applications, in which case, MagicSpam would block most of the messages before they even get to your system and the rest would be later processed by selected anti-virus application in your server. In addition, MagicSpam PRO for WHM/cPanel also has own, custom SpamAssassin rules, specifically design by our Spam Auditor team to protect your server from Emotet and other specific spam outbreak emails.
Our Spam Auditor publishes new rules daily which are automatically updated in MagicSpam.
We hope this information helps with your decision.
