Most likely, if you are seeing email coming from a host that should be on the MIPSpace list, many other people will be receiving from them as well. We receive rate-limiter reports from several dozen MagicMail servers and those lists often contain new MIPSpace candidates, which we pass along to the appropriate people.

As for checking if the lists have been updated or not, you can examine the timestamps on the files in /var/cache/bms/ to see when they were last updated. The lists are labelled by number, rather than name. If you go to the following URL and enter an IP address, you will be able to see all the lists and their accompanying numbers: http://www.linuxmagic.com/products/bms/lookup
