Where in the magicspam settings can we blacklist specific top level domains? Specifically .top .ru .cn, we used some of the recommendations from this article http://forums.magicspam.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=225386 .
It seems to be catching more of those but other spam sources are getting through with those TLDs.
I have to believe the ability to block such domains is a function of magicspam, because it is in other spam blocking resources (like spamassasin)
We are running Ubuntu Server 16 with Plesk Onyx, and attempted to run spamassasin along with magicspam with bad results. Is there another way if this is not a function of magicspam?
Blocking the new TLD format
Re: Blocking the new TLD format
Hello MoldM@n,
Thank you for your post.
The option to blacklist entire top level domains is at the moment only available in MagicSpam PRO for Plesk and WHM/cPanel.
MagicSpam should works very well in combination with a filter such as SpamAssassin because they work at different "levels".
In fact, many MagicSpam users do enable SpamAssassin or other content filtering products to provide anti-spam protection through content-filtering while MagicSpam provides Best-Practices and IP reputation based anti-spam protection.
Could you please let us know more about the issue with spamassassin that on your system that did not produced desired results?
Also if you are still having an issue with an uncaught spam on your system, could you please send us your MagicSpam logs for analysis at:
support@magicspam.com
To retrieve MagicSpam logs, you can use the MagicSpam interface and access the "Logs" tab.
In the log search result output, you have the option to export/save the log search results to a CSV file. Once you have the CSV file, you can email that as an attachment to us for examination using your email client.
Please make sure that you remove entries where mua=yes and highlight only HAM entries that are spam.
Also, can you please send us screenshots of the following two tabs in your MagicSpam control panel:
Settings / Server Policies
and
Settings / IP Reputation
With the requested information, we will be able to provide better suggestions for addressing the uncaught spam issue.
Thank you.
