magicspam-daemon: error loading shared libraries ibpcre.so.1

Post by lakul » Thu Feb 02, 2017 12:15 am

Hello,
I installed Magicspam 2.1-5.6 on a server with Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS and Plesk Onyx 17.0.17. Magicspam worked fine. After upgrading to 2.1-5.7, the daemon no longer starts:

Code: Select all

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/modules/magicspampro/magicspam-daemon: error while loading shared libraries: libpcre.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
The Libary does not exist, there is also no package, where it is referenced. The current version is libpcre.so.3.

What can I do?

Many Thanks!

Hello lakul,

Thank you for your post.

it would appear that your server might be missing a required library
for the software to function.

This can normally be resolved with the command:

apt-get install libpcre3

Could you please verify as well that the MagicSpam package that you
downloaded and installed matches correctly with your platform and
architecture?

Please let us know if this resolves your issue or if you need any further assistance.

Thank you again for your post.

Hello,
many thanks for the answer.
Yes, I have already checked. Libpcre3 is installed. However, there is no file libpcre.so.1, but only libpcre.so.3.
It does not work anymore since the update to version 2.1-5.7.

Do you have another idea?

greetings

Christian

Hello Christian,

Thank you for your reply.

We are sorry to hear that our instructions did not resolve the issue.

To continue troubleshooting this issue, would you please be able to provide us with additional information about your platform:

- Operating System Architecture (32 bit or 64 bit)

- MTA (Qmail, Postfix, Exim)

- The name of the MagicSpam PRO package originally downloaded and installed (.zip)

Also, would you please be able to send us the output of the following command:

ldd /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/modules/magicspampro/magicspam-daemon

In the meantime, may we recommend removing, and then reinstalling MagicSpam PRO on your system with the latest version for your system and architecture.

Please note that all settings will be preserved during the re-installation.

Please let us know if that works for you.

Hello,
I am very sorry. It was my fault! I have accidentally installed the version for CentOS and not for Ubuntu. It is unique that it can be easily installed, without error.

Thank you and best regards

Christian
