blacklist - magicspam or mailenable

Post by zveky » Fri Nov 11, 2022 8:26 am

What is suggested to do with blacklist, now I have setup both mailenable and magicspam to user barracuda black list.
What is happening in this situation?
I have setup mailenable to block and magicspam to flag.
Which one will be first to check connection?
If connection will be checked first by mailenable then magicspam RBL is not needed because connection will be already dropped?

Hello Zveky,

The RBLs configured in MailEnable run before the RBLs configured in MagicSpam. As such with you current configuration, MagicSpam does not have the opportunity to evaluate the transaction as the connection has been rejected when the source is listed on the Barracuda RBL.

We recommend to only configure RBLs in MagicSpam as it gives you the additional capability to deliver these emails to the spam folder and not just outright reject them. Also, emails rejected by RBLs configured in MailEnable are not logged by MagicSpam, so keep that in mind if MagicSpam Logs are an important factor to you.

Thank you.
