Email from self

Post by NubeNinja » Mon Nov 08, 2021 11:20 am

I've read this: ... from-self/

After I received this:

Return-Path: <>
Received: from

(envelope-from <>)
for <>; Sat, 06 Nov 2021 23:17:55 -0600
Return-path: <>

by with esmtp (Exim 4.94.2)

From: <>
To: <>
Subject: You have outstanding debt.

X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook 14.0
Thread-Index: Acw5on426m0os1j1w5on426m0os1j1==
Content-Language: en
X-From-Rewrite: unmodified, forwarded message

I know that its not a recommended practice to block self account but, is there any way to minimize the affectations due this?.

Please note: I have all my own IPs whitelisted as I received tons of false possitives marked as spam.

Thanks in advance

Hey NubeNinja,

Based on our understanding, you're receiving a lot of spam where the sender address has been forged using domains hosted on your own servers. Did we understand you correctly?

In that case. MagicSpam has the 'Local SMTP sender addresses must authenticate' Spam Policy which rejects messages from local senders when the SMTP transactions is not authenticated. Just make sure that the actual user who owns the email address has their email client set up to authenticate when sending to their own address.

Otherwise if you provide us with your IP addresses, we can review them further to find the reason they have been listed. You will probably want to contact us directly through our support email account ( for this to avoid exposing your IP addresses to the Internet.
