Inbound Rate Limiter
Inbound Rate Limiter
Is there a limit to how many IP address this will hold or cause MagicSPam to malfunction after so many. Plus i have set block to 3 years in the minute section, is this ok.
Re: Inbound Rate Limiter
Hello cmedik,
Thank you for your post.
There's no theoretical limit to the number of rate limited IP entries.
Just to confirm, you have set the Inbound Expiry Time to 3 years?
That may not be ideal since spammers tend to move around and will rarely use the same mail server for 3 years.
You may want to lower that value (two days recommended) to purge your list of blocked servers more often and free up system resources.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Re: Inbound Rate Limiter
Would there be a good setting besides the 150 like 100 or even lower?
Re: Inbound Rate Limiter
Hello cmedik,
We assume you mean the value for the Inbound Message Limit, and that the Inbound Counting Period is the default 5 minutes.
We feel that 150 is a good middle ground for most customers.
You are of course free to tune the value as you see fit, but note that setting it too low can have unforeseen consequences on mail delivery to your server.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
