Moving Server

Post by glenn_uk » Wed Apr 01, 2020 2:28 am

Hi All

We are building a new Zimbra server which we hope to backup the and restore the mail over the easter break. What's the process for moving the licence and in the interim so I can copy data from magic spam over as we able to install and eval on the new server prior to shutting down the old one and moving the licence

Thanks

Glenn

Hello Glenn,

Thank you for contacting us.

In order to migrate your MagicSpam to another server, simply use your MagicSpam license to download the appropriate MagicSpam version for your system from our download site:

https://www.magicspam.com/download/

and install it in your new server. Then, you can simply migrate all your MagicSpam settings of your existing server from the:

Anti-Spam / System / "Spam Settings - Backup/Migration Tool"

section to the new server by exporting setting from existing one and importing them into the new server.

Lastly, please let us know once you are ready to apply the license in the new server, please email your MagicSpam license number to our support team at support@magicspam.com and we will reset the anti-abuse lock on your license so you can register the license in your new server.

Please note that MagicSpam license is per server license and it can only be applied on one server at the time. Once it is applied in the new server, it will automatically be deactivated in your old MagicSpam server.

If you need to run two MagicSpam servers at the same time, you will need to purchase an additional MagicSpam license from our webstore:

https://www.magicspam.com/store.php

use it for how ever long you need it, or until you have fully migrated to the new server. Then you can simply cancel further renewals for the license you do not need.

We hope this information helps.
