MagicSpam seems to be doing a great job by itself.
Is there really any need to use Spamassassin in conjunction with MagicSpam?
I realise that MagicSpam blocks spam at SMTP before it hits the Spamassassin content filter, but I was just wondering what people are doing out there. Are you using MagicSpam with Spamassassin?
To the MagicSpam people.....do most of your customers use MagicSpam with or without Spamassassin?
Is Spamassassin really needed with MagicSpam
Re: Is Spamassassin really needed with MagicSpam
MagicSpam blocks at the pre-SMTP level using such checks as valid reverse DNS.
For email coming from large webmail providers or from determined spammers with properly configured mail servers often the only remaining option is to filter by content using a tool such as Spam Assasin.
We don't have any statistics however at a guess half of MagicSpam customers would also use Spam Assasin.
