Re: Spam Identified...and then let through?
MIPSpace poor and worst (40 and 41) haven't updated since 5/28 at 4:26 PM. That's 18 hours ago, and, boy, it shows up in our email boxes. We seem to be having more problems with updates over the past week. Is there any way to "force" an update, given that the spec shows these lists are upd...

Re: Spam Identified...and then let through?
I'm leaving this here in this thread, because it speaks to the issues we've discussed. I just noted a lot of SPAM coming through and looked at the MagicSpam RBL update logs: -rw-r--r-- 1 magicspam magicspam 133976064 May 6 04:25 13 -rw-r--r-- 1 magicspam magicspam 78041088 May 5 10:25 23 nearly 24 h...

Re: Spam Identified...and then let through?
OK, we found in the logs that the RBLs were not updating since the 6th of March using the terminal command: ls -al /var/cache/bms/ which gives us a list of the last updates by block list. We then updated the ownership permissions with this command: chown -R magicspam:magicspam /var/cache/bms And fou...

Re: Spam Identified...and then let through?
This is happening with maddening frequency now. One user now gets TWO copies of the SPAM email instead of just one. What a system! X-Ham-Report: (Isn't "HAM" a phrase that you specifically use?) Spam detection software, running on the system "vps.###########.com", has identified ...

Spam Identified...and then let through?
I have a recent customer complaint; high volume inbound where we've been successfully blocking 98% of spam. All of a sudden, we're not. Here's a header notice from one of the obvious spams that get through: Spam detection software, running on the system "vps.myhostvps.com", has identified ...

MagicSpam is trying to re-install
My clients note that spam has increased over the last week. I went to the WHM plugin area and opened MagicSpam to review the settings, and lo, the "First Run Wizard" appeared asking for my serial numbers. (Neat trick, just double click on each field and it will prompt the correct entry, pr...

Re: RBL lookups are being blocked
Thank you for your assistance. Which other lists (other than the "recommended") should I use in the IP reputation configuration? The RBL that is being blocked has a pretty consistent record of finding real spam, otherwise missed. What's really bothering me is that the WHM Exim is deliverin...

RBL lookups are being blocked
Here is part of a header for a SPAM that cleared as HAM, with the IP address listed in RBLs that we employ with MagicSpam and WHM: Content analysis details: (1.2 points, 5.0 required) pts rule name description ---- ---------------------- -------------------------------------------------- 0.0 URIBL_B...

Re: Outbound Rate Limiter Exception Working?
And now I come back to you with some rather disturbing news. With a rate limiter set universally at 150 messages per hour, one account has managed to send 22,308 messages and never get stopped, interrupted, or place on hold. With no response even to my last post, I'm wondering if any of this rate li...

Re: Outbound Rate Limiter Exception Working?
Well, unfortunately, there seems to be something wrong with the Outbound/User rate limiters when used in conjunction with our bulk mail utility, Gammadyne Mailer. The Per-IP (Inbound) Rate Limiter seems to have nothing to do with the Per-User Rate limiter and here is why… 1. Our initial newsletter s...
