Chinesse spam

Post by izghitu » Wed Apr 11, 2018 12:40 am

I am getting a huge amount of spam from China from various sources. Most the spam is blocked using the RBLs by MagicSpam but still a good amount of it gets to the inbox. The From: accounts are fake and all the spam has Subject similar to below:
註冊就送28: WWW.501524.COM 以小博大彩金,重磅升級,存10送18,二 次存50送28,無需流水。(在线专员扣扣2862731180)

And content similar to below:
註冊就送28: WWW.501524.COM

Is there any way for me to block all Chinese text or perhaps using a string from the Subject or Conents with MagicSpam?

Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hello izghitu,

Thank you for your post.

We are sorry to hear that you have encountered the issue with the uncaught spam in your server.

In order to better assist you with this issue, it would be helpful if you could send us MagicSpam logs for examination.

To retrieve MagicSpam logs, you can use the MagicSpam interface and access the "Logs" tab.

In the log search result output, you have the option to export/save the log search results to a CSV file. Once you have the CSV file, you can email that as an attachment to us for examination using your email client.

Please make sure that you remove entries where mua=yes and highlight only HAM entries that are spam you are referring to in your email.

Also, can you please send us screenshots of the following two tabs in your MagicSpam control panel:

Settings / Server Policies
Settings / IP Reputation

With the requested information, we will be able to provide better suggestions for addressing the uncaught spam issue.

Also, please note that MagicSpam works very well with other content filters such as SpamAssassin, as well as different antivirus products that you can use to add additional layer of spam protection to your system.

Some of our customers choose to use SpamAssassin in behind MagicSpam; this allows MagicSpam to remove the large majority of the spam messages and leaves SpamAssassin to scan the few leftover messages based on the content. This allows you to still benefit the performance gains that MagicSpam offers, while allowing a content filter to perform the deeper scanning that you are looking for the emails with Chinese text.

Thank you,

Please note that we have also have our own set of SpamAssassin rules
for MagicSpam PRO version for WHM/cPanel; you can enable MagicSpam
Enhanced SpamAssassin Rules option in the MagicSpam interface panel.

In addition, could you please fill us in on the additional information
about your system:

- MagicSpam Version

- Operating System and Version

- Operating System Architecture (32 bit or 64 bit)

- WHM/cPanel Version

Pleas let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.
