How to Install on Plesk v12 - No Module Option???

Post by Randy » Sat Jul 12, 2014 1:59 pm

Hi,

I just purchase the MagicSpam software and downloaded it.

However, your instructions don't synch up with anything I am seeing in my Pesk 12 Control Panel. It refers to Modules, which apparently are no longer available in Plesk, or at least I can't find them. I've been a Plesk CP user since v10 and can't say I've ever see the Modules option in those versions either. I did a quick check of your forums and saw nothing to help me out.

Can you please forward a link or instructions on how to do this on Windows 2008 64-bit. Do I just run the exe. package wizard and/or do I have to link it somehow to the Plesk Panel in some fashion, if so, how? Do I need to un-install SpamAssassin, etc.

Unclear at this point as to what I need to do to minimize install issues, etc. with the Plesk Panel itself.

Thx!

Randy

Hello Randy,

Thank you for your email and for supporting MagicSpam!

Due to the way that Plesk works on Windows, we cannot integrate
directly into their interface and a standalone MagicSpam web interface
is used.

Simply download the installation EXE file to your server and begin the
installer. The installer will provide on-screen instructions from
there.

Regarding SpamAssassin, you do not need to uninstall SpamAssassin as
MagicSpam operates in solely in the SMTP layer whereas SpamAssassin is
strictly a content filter. In fact, our customers often use them both
together to great effect.

Thanks!
