Re: Block mail from hostname not ip.
Hello Amorganvmp! Thank you for your question. We don't currently have a feature available to blacklist or whitelist via EHLO/HELO, however this could be a good feature for future versions of MagicSpam! We will pass on this suggestion to our development team. In the meantime, we would like to help y...

Re: check_reverse_dns_list rule questions

Qualification is that the source has been reported to have sent spam (human reports) and that multiple source patterns of the same or similar PTR records exist. Challenges to listings can be mad...

Re: How to stop blocking mail from localhost like Mailman li
Hello Widomaker, and thank you for your post! In this particular case, it would appear that your /etc/hosts file has not been configured yet for the server to be 'self aware' of the host names associated with its own localhost interfaces - both ipv4 and ipv6. In this case this can be rectified by mo...

However, MagicSpam operates solely in the SMTP level and does not interact with email message bodies whatsoever. MagicSpam was never designed to be a content filter and because o...

Re: Big problem with Backscatter email
Hello! Thank you for posting your question and for supporting MagicSpam! Please note that MagicSpam does not send any bounce emails (backscatter), it only provides SMTP level rejection notices back to the sending server. The sending server would then take the rejection notice from MagicSpam and send...

Re: MagicSpam stopped working for no apparent reason?
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry and for supporting MagicSpam! It sounds as if there is a problem with the logs looping onto themselves. As a test, please move the log files in /var/log/magicspam/ out of the way and see if MagicSpam can recover gracefully. If you are still having problems, please c...
